“I would love to live like a river flows. Carried by the surprise of it’s own unfolding.”
John O’Donohue
What is it about a gently flowing river that calms and restores the soul? The steadiness of the patterned ripples intent on their purpose and direction…obedient to the the current…effortlessly…willingly…joyously.
There is a parable in the beauty of a gently flowing river.
One that He has set in place since the beginning of time,
to declare His Glory and the way He has always intended our hearts to be
— at rest before Him.
Nature indeed whispers His voice…are we listening?
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters,
He refreshes my soul.” Psalm 23:1-3
